Several national homebuilders are preparing for Jacksonville’s next housing boom. Last week, Lennar Homes closed on a large chunk of land in Yellow Bluff Landing on the Northside, paying $5.7 million for 154 lots. It was the latest in a series of large land deals for national builders, which are in hot pursuit of residential land in the region’s most in-demand neighborhoods. “The market obviously is doing extremely well, and we hadn’t developed in years,” said Barbara Moore, North Florida division president for Lennar. “So the lot and home site supply is dwindling, and it’s dwindling in particular in desirable areas.” And the builders who are buying land are preparing to build on it sooner rather than later.
